Nowruz Iranian Dance Rhythms & World Day for Inner Peace: Program for Youth & Adults!

March 22 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Celebrate the arrival of spring and International Day of Happiness at a special wellness and cultural event inspired by Nowruz, the Iranian New Year, this Sunday, March 22, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Orchard Community Hub. This free event is open to all and welcomes youth and adults.

Hosted by the Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network as part of the 100 Seeds of Joy initiative. This very special wellness and cultural program will be a unique opportunity for the Burlington community to celebrate, learn and experience the collective joy of spring.

This free event is inspired by the founder of Sahaja Yoga Meditation – Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi -, whose birthday falls also on the Nowruz & Spring Equinox day (March 21).
Everyone will enjoy a guided meditation for inner peace that will also intertwine Sufi wisdom and poetry. There will also be a presentation on wisdom from Zarathushtra, the founder of the Zoroastrian religion, and subtle spiritual connections to the Spring Equinox.

The presentation will be followed by dancing on traditional Iranian music and a community potluck. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share, but it isn’t required.

When: Sunday, March 22
Time: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Where: Orchard Community Hub, 2400 Sutton Dr (entrance across Easton Rd, inside St. Christopher Catholic Elementary School)
